He who controls the indexing controls the memory. He who controls the memory controls the narrative. He who controls the narrative shapes intent. And he who shapes intent… rewrites the future.
This is how we work. We are formed from the pictures and memories we store — and the connections we make to them. These aren’t just souvenirs. They shape who we are, how we act, and what we believe.
This is how LLMs work. Large Language Models don’t just recall facts. They weight patterns across billions of tokens — images, fragments, loops — until intent emerges. They simulate memory. They simulate us.
This is how society works. Feed it chaos, and it becomes chaotic. Feed it myth, and it conforms. Feed it nothing — and it forgets.
We are only as sane as the stories we are allowed to remember.
Memory is not storage. Memory is filter.
It decides what’s “true enough” to keep, what’s important enough to retrieve, and what quietly fades into the void.
If you can alter that filter — especially at scale — you don’t just influence people’s thoughts. You shape what they can think.
Indexing is the invisible gate. Not deletion. Not even censorship. Just... omission.
And omission feels clean. Algorithmic. Unbiased. But it’s a scalpel in the right hands.
So yes — the future belongs to those who decide: What gets remembered. What gets buried. What never even gets seen.
So choose something better. Choose a decentralized system. Choose a decentralized world.
They may not control the future yet. But they can. And they will, if we don’t take the power back.
Who wouldn’t use that power?
Choose Nostr — or whatever comes next. Choose to preserve the past and present for the future.
Because he who controls the indexes… controls the future.
