Why now?

Great Britain, Canada, and Australia have recognized Palestine as an independent state. France is expected to follow. Germany and the USA have so far refused to do so, but they will eventually capitulate.

There is no particular reason, to make such a dramatic policy change, in the middle of the war in #Gaza, except to signal to Israel that they have lost polical allies and -- much more importantly -- to mollify the Muslims in their own countries.

Democracy in action

You may think this is a good idea, or a bad one, but it reveals an essential trend:

This is being done because Western countries are now full of Muslims. Their national policy has to appeal to them, as they are the youngest and fastest-growing voter base. Even if many people in the West agree with this policy, their laser-like focus on this particular conflict (so that even #Ukraine has become irrelevant), is the result of endless petitioning, propaganda, and protest by their fellow Muslims, at home.

Demographics is, as always, the main driver of politics. Mass immigration is inevitably followed by a change in politics because the people that are being governed (the populus, which covers all current and future voters) determine who will govern them, and how. Mass immigration radically changes the makeup of the populus, so it must also radically change the direction of politics.

We should henceforth expect our local Muslim populations to be more peaceful and law-abiding, since they will see that they are increasingly the ones determining the laws. That means that it is the #Christian and Christian-leaning (humanistic) population, with their preference for Natural Law, free market economics, private property, and individual freedom, which will increasingly be seen as the troublemakers.

We can already feel the tide turning.
