๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Tools, Updates and Releases

1. Nostrmo - 3.4.0

Nostrmo is a cross-platform Nostr client built with Flutter, supporting Android, iOS, macOS, Windows, Web, and Linux. This release focuses on a new relay pool implementation along with several bug fixes and enhancements. Key updates include support for index relays and proof-of-work (POW), UI changes to event components, improved parsing of messages using NIP-44 before falling back to NIP-04, adjustments to emoji link handling, a larger close button for image previews, and a confirmation step before logout. It also fixes issues with follow packs, moving them to the first tab for easier access, making this version more reliable and user-friendly.

2. Amber - v4.0.2

Amber is a Nostr event signer for Android that keeps usersโ€™ nsec keys secure in a dedicated app. This release introduces improvements such as building from the local repo via Dockerfile, displaying all accounts in the backup screen, and automatically showing the backup dialog if any account requires backup. It also enables Gradle configuration cache for faster builds, fixes migration issues from older versions, and corrects a broken README link, making the app more stable and user-friendly. This was the latest release, and there was also the release of v4.0.2-pre1 last week.

3. Aegis - v0.0.1-beta

Aegis is a simple, cross-platform Nostr signer designed to securely sign events and support multiple connection methods, making it easier for users to manage their Nostr activity across different platforms. The v0.0.1-beta release marks its initial beta version, introducing key features such as support for NIP-46 (local relay), which allows communication with apps via a local relay, and NIP-55 (Content Resolver), enhancing the ability to fetch and resolve content on Nostr. Additionally, this release enables multi-account login, giving users the flexibility to manage multiple Nostr identities from a single interface.

4. Flotilla - 1.2.4

Flotilla is a Discord-like Nostr client built around the concept of โ€œrelays as groups,โ€ enabling users to communicate and organize discussions across multiple relays in a familiar chat interface. This release adds direct message alerts and a dedicated alert settings page, provides instructions for key downloads, and introduces an option for relays to strip signatures. It now detects relays that mostly refuse requests, compresses and uploads profile images, defaults to the system theme, updates the icon set with a refactored inclusion method, and switches from localStorage to Capacitorโ€™s preferences for storage. These improvements enhance usability, reliability, and overall user experience across the app. This was the biggest release, and the latest release was 1.2.5 last week.

Developed by: Source: github.com/coracle-social/flotilla/releases/tag/1.2.4

5. Coop - v0.2.8

Coop is a simple, fast, and reliable Nostr client for secure messaging across all platforms. This release improves user profile handling, enables resending of failed messages, and refactors event fetching. It also adds a โ€œseen-on-relaysโ€ viewer per message, detects user DM relays when opening the chat panel, and includes additional UI improvements for a smoother messaging experience.

Developed by: Source: github.com/lumehq/coop/releases/tag/v0.2.8

6. Primal Android App - 2.5.11

The Primal Android app is Primal's Android client for Nostr, enabling secure messaging, live streaming, and content interaction. This release introduces Picture-in-Picture support and background playback for live streams, proper chat and zap loading logic, breath animations on large streaming pills, and automatic updates for stale streams. Connectivity indicators and video handling have been improved, while padding, deep-linking crashes, and overlapping or slow-loading zap items have been fixed. The release also enables publishing profile metadata with enhanced privacy, removes click indicators from stream chats, reduces the live stream stale threshold to 1 hour, and adds a ZapStore publish flow.

7. Bitchat - 1.4.2

Bitchat is a decentralized peer-to-peer messaging app using both local Bluetooth mesh networks for offline communication and the Nostr protocol for global reach, requiring no accounts, phone numbers, or central servers. This release adds options to enable or disable Tor for privacy and gates default relay connections behind mutual favorites. Other updates include preventing GitHub language stats skewing, setting the macOS app category to Social Media, and centralizing the marketing version as a single source of truth. This was the latest release, and there were also the releases of 1.4.1 and 1.4.0 (geotags) last week.

๐ŸŽ Developer Tools, Updates and Releases

1. Mostro-CLI - v0.13.3

Mostro-CLI is a command-line client for Mostro (the Lightning Network peer-to-peer exchange platform built on Nostr). The latest release, v0.13.3, delivers key improvements, including a fix for the wrong key in the execute_admin_add_solver function, enhancements to the changelog, and updates to cargo.toml. It also introduces a new helper for handling all admin dispute commands, alongside several bug fixes and refinements. This release strengthens reliability while simplifying dispute management and admin operations. There were also releases of v0.13.2, v0.13.1, and v0.13.0 also last week.

Developed by: Source: github.com/MostroP2P/mostro-cli/releases/tag/v0.13.3

2. Snstr - v0.1.4

Snstr (Secure Nostr Software Toolkit for Renegades) is a developer tool for enhancing Nostr development across Node, React Native, and Web, providing secure and environment-aware cryptographic functions. This release lazy-loads Node crypto only in Node, ensures environment-specific NIPโ€‘04 selection, and strengthens decrypt behavior to throw on wrong-key attempts. It hardens RN/Web entries to avoid accidental Node imports, updates security validation, and relaxes timing thresholds for improved test stability. Existing behavior remains compatible with synchronous NIPโ€‘04 signatures and retains 0.1.3 improvements. RN/Expo users should install snstr@0.1.4, clear the Metro cache, and import react-native-get-random-values once at startup. This was the latest release, and there was also the release of v0.1.3 last week.

Developed by: Austin Kelsay Source: github.com/AustinKelsay/snstr/releases/tag/v0.1.4

๐Ÿ‘‹ Stay in Touch & Zap

Nostr is built by the plebs, for the plebs. If you found this recap helpful, consider supporting me, Nomishka, with a zap.

Iโ€™m committed to supporting Nostr, and I usually split a part of the zaps I receive for this note with the plebs mentioned in this recap for all their great effort, But with this recap I am unable to split it with the publishing and editing issues in habla and highlighter. This time using Yakihonne. I hope to split zaps again in the next Nostr recaps when the issues are solved. Thank you so much for being part of this journey. Let me know your thoughts about this forty second recap, share your tips and suggestions for the next weekly #nostrrecap, and letโ€™s keep #grownostr together.
