Chef's notes
Here is a simple recipe for Orange Chicken Sauce, inspired by Panda Express. My children prefer this over the fast-food version, and ask for it a few times a month. The sauce can be stored for a few weeks in the refrigerator.

Ingredients
- 1 cup Orange Juice
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 2 tbsp soy sauce (or coconut aminos)
- 1/4 tsp fresh ginger (or ginger paste)
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp garlic chili sauce (siracha)
- a bit of fresh minced garlic (optional)
- 1 tbsp corn starch
- 2 tbsp water
Directions
- Combine all ingredients, minus corn starch and water. In a small pan stir/whisk over medium heat until sauce is bubbling.
- Mix corn starch with water and then add to bubbling sauce.

- Continue to stir for a few more minutes, remove from heat.
- Store in refrigerator, enjoy on chicken, shrimp, rice and more. Garnish with orange zest and/or sesame seeds.
